Full recovery of process water for internal reuse
All the Water Your Process Uses, Recovered and Returned to It. Nothing Leaves the Site.
Zero Liquid Discharge eliminates liquid effluent from your facility entirely. All process wastewater is progressively concentrated through membrane and evaporation stages until only dry or near-dry solid residue remains — and the recovered water re-enters your production cycle. For industries under SPCB ZLD mandates, this is a compliance requirement. For water-stressed industrial sites, it is also a fundamental operational advantage.
GSI designs ZLD systems configured to the specific effluent composition and recovery targets of each installation. Treatment typically progresses through biological membrane treatment (MBR), high-recovery reverse osmosis (HRRO) targeting 95%+ water recovery, followed by Multi-Effect Evaporation (MEE), Agitated Thin Film Drying (ATFD), or Mechanical Vapour Recompression (MVR) — selected and sequenced to the concentrate characteristics and energy economics of each site.
Where effluent contains recoverable organic load, GSI also designs for biogas recovery through anaerobic digestion, producing compressed biogas (CBG) as a saleable energy product alongside treated water and solid residue.
Documented performance: 95%+ RO recovery since Day 1 at Globe Denwash ZLD (700 KLD) — zero MBR or RO membranes replaced since commissioning. 96%+ RO recovery at Zim Labs Pharma ZLD (260 KLD).
